Tax counsel meets CFO discipline.
George is a tax attorney and financial executive whose practice spans legal counsel, tax advisory, and strategic finance. At Neil Jesani Advisors, he serves in three interconnected roles: as the firm's General Counsel, overseeing NJA's legal function and governance; as a senior practitioner in the Private Client Practice, delivering engineered tax strategies to high-income executives, business owners, and investors; and as a key contributor to the Tax Controversy practice, providing legal representation and strategic defense across IRS audits, appeals, and multi-jurisdiction disputes. That breadth — legal, tax, and finance under one roof — is rare, and it is precisely what NJA's most complex client situations demand.
George's professional foundation was built in Big Four international tax planning, where he spent five years advising on complex cross-border structures before moving into senior in-house roles. He subsequently served as Vice President of International Tax Research and Planning at CIT, and as Senior Vice President of Tax at Doral Financial Corporation — a federally chartered savings bank with significant international operations — where he led the tax function through complex regulatory and transactional environments.
Beyond his tax and legal career, George has demonstrated a consistent entrepreneurial instinct, having co-founded and led several ventures spanning healthcare technology and real estate investment. That operating experience gives him a practitioner's perspective that pure tax counsel rarely brings — he understands how businesses are actually built and run, which makes his advisory work more grounded and actionable for owner-operator clients.
George holds a B.S. in Accounting, a Master of Accountancy with a concentration in Tax, and a Juris Doctor with a specialization in Tax Law — all from Villanova University.
