Resolve Your Tax Controversy with the Right Team
When you’re facing an audit, collection action, or IRS appeal, don’t settle for amateur representation. At Neil Jesani Tax Advisors, our in-house team of senior tax attorneys, CPAs, and enrolled agents specializes exclusively in high-stakes tax controversies, negotiating, defending, and resolving your tax issues while protecting what you’ve built.
Experienced Tax Professionals for IRS Audit Defense, Collections, and Appeals
When the IRS challenges your position or demands payment, the difference between a routine response and a strategic defense can mean hundreds of thousands of dollars.
At Neil Jesani Advisors, every case is managed by seasoned Tax Attorneys, CPAs, and IRS Enrolled Agents who handle complex tax controversies daily. We represent clients through audits, appeals, and collections, navigating the same IRS systems that overwhelm most taxpayers.
Whether you’re facing an audit notice, a tax lien, or a proposed assessment, our goal is simple: protect your assets, minimize exposure, and reach the most favorable resolution possible, often before litigation becomes necessary.
Our Tax Dispute Services
We represent high-income individuals, business owners, and professional firms facing complex tax disputes at every stage, from audit to resolution.
IRS and State Tax Audits
When the IRS or state tax authorities question your return, every detail matters. We guide clients through the audit defense process, respond to information requests, and defend positions using solid documentation and legal precedent to minimize or eliminate assessments.
Tax Collections and Enforcement Defense
If you owe back taxes or have received a notice of lien, levy, or wage garnishment, we step in quickly to negotiate directly with the IRS. Our team works to release liens, prevent levies, and structure payment plans or Offers in Compromise that protect your assets and cash flow.
IRS Appeals and Administrative Resolutions
If you disagree with an audit result or collection action, our appeals specialists can represent you before the IRS Independent Office of Appeals. We build your case, challenge errors, and pursue administrative remedies before litigation becomes necessary.
Tax Litigation and Court Representation
When disputes cannot be settled administratively, our tax attorneys represent clients before the U.S. Tax Court and other judicial forums. With decades of combined experience, we prepare persuasive legal arguments that align with your financial objectives.
Penalty Abatement and Interest Reduction
Penalties and interest can compound rapidly. We analyze the root cause, reasonable cause, reliance on expert advice, or IRS error, and request abatement where applicable, often saving clients hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Criminal Tax Defense
For cases involving potential fraud or willful noncompliance, early representation is critical. Our attorneys coordinate directly with federal counsel to protect your rights, manage exposure, and work toward the most favorable resolution possible.
Our Process: How We Resolve Tax Controversies
At Neil Jesani Tax Advisors, we understand that when the IRS or state tax authorities get involved, time and precision are everything. Our process is designed to move quickly, protect your interests, and deliver clear resolutions with minimal disruption to your life or business.
Comprehensive Case Review
We start with a full analysis of your situation, reviewing tax notices, prior filings, and any correspondence with the IRS or state agencies. Our goal is to understand the facts, identify exposure, and determine your strongest defense position before we engage.
Strategy Development and Representation Plan
Every tax controversy is unique. Once we understand the scope, our in-house team of Senior Tax Attorneys, CPAs, and Enrolled Agents builds a tailored plan to resolve your issue efficiently. Whether it’s an audit, appeal, or collection matter, we outline each step clearly so you know exactly what to expect.
Direct IRS Communication and Negotiation
From this point forward, you won’t have to deal with the IRS directly. Our team handles all communication on your behalf; drafting responses, attending meetings, and negotiating resolutions. We work to minimize penalties, reduce liabilities, and protect your personal and business assets.
Resolution and Compliance Reinforcement
Once your matter is resolved, we don’t stop there. We ensure all compliance issues are addressed to prevent future disputes and help you implement safeguards to avoid recurring problems. Many clients continue to work with our advisory team for proactive planning and long-term tax efficiency.
